Why Oprah and Reese Witherspoon Have Extra Limbs in the Latest VF Issue
The next time you make an embarrassing mistake, remember Vanity Fair’s 24th annual Oscar issue. The blockbuster issue of the year, featuring some of the greatest names in the business was a mess up of grand proportions. The cover, graced by the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman fell victim to some heavy-handed photoshop work. The photoshoot taken by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz was beautiful by industry standards but embarrassing in its failure to realize that Oprah Winfrey has three arms and Reese Witherspoon has three legs.
The issue which was recently shared online had people wondering about the extra limbs, something the VF team clearly failed to spot. In a response via Twitter VF stated that, “While we would have loved the exclusive on @RWither
spoon’s three legs, unfortunately it’s just the lining of her dress.” They then went on to state, “As for @Oprah, how can we expect her to juggle it all with just two hands?”
The actresses also had a field day on the matter, Reese copped to having ‘another leg to stand on.” While Oprah applauded her bravery. “I accept your 3d leg. As I know you accept my 3d hand.”
As if that wasn’t enough, James Franco, initially in the shoot needed to be photoshopped out over sexual misconduct allegations. When asked a magazine spokesperson stated “We made a decision not to include James Franco on the Hollywood cover once we learned of the misconduct allegations against him.”
