Who Will Be The Lucky Designer Of Meghan’s Wedding Dress?

Who will be the lucky designer of Meghan’s wedding dress? We won't know for a while, but we are patting ourselves on the back, Christos Costarellos a designer we profiled last week is in the running !

With the wedding news all over the place, we have seen, read and heard everything we possibly can about Meghan Markle… what remains however, is reading about the mysterious star of the wedding …..the wedding dress!!

The dress is somewhat of a main event in any wedding, and more so if it’s a wedding for royalty. Fashion houses from all around the world will be in competition over who will take over this coveted role.

Meghan’s style can be defined as understated sophistication but will she stick to that style for the wedding dress? and will she cling to her American roots with her choice of designer and go with a Carolina Herrera, or an Oscar de la Renta? Or will she embrace her new found status and opt for an English or British designer such as Jenny Packham or Gibraltar native John Galliano.

Some of Markle’s favourite designers will clearly top that list such as Erdem, and Antonio Beradi, and following her character’s marriage on Suits, Meghan was heard saying she prefers dresses that are whimsical and slightly romantic.

There are speculations that Meghan’s dress might have a Canadian influence especially after Meghan stepped out in a white coat from a Canadian brand called Line the Label for her engagement announcement. There are others who feel that she might opt for a more directional approach a La Kate and choose something from Emilia Wickstead, or go for a Sarah Burton dress since Burton was the designer of Kate Middleton’s wedding gown.

In an interview with Glamour magazine, Meghan mentioned that her favourite bridal brands are Paris-based designer Delphine Manivet as well as Christos Costarellos, she also mentioned that she would always be a fan of Elie Saab and J. Mendel!

However, there are many elements shaping Markle’s decision in a wedding dress, such as the facts that she’s first and foremost an american TV star, moreover, she’s already worn two wedding dresses prior to this one; one in real life and the other one on Suits. Regardless of who or what she ends up wearing, we have no doubt that Meghan Markle will be a stunner in white…
