Meghan Markle’s Bateau Neckline || When Style Becomes A Staple

Markle has been a Duchess for a few months only and all we know the ‘Megan Effect’ has been on a major rise ever since! Naturally, keeping an eagle eye on the latest British royal member was bound to happen, and one silhouette favored by Megan has been strongly emerging.. The boatneck a.k.a. the bateau neckline.. This classic and polished design screams regality, originally popularized by French designers like Coco Chanel and Hubert de Givenchy, Megan has been donning this collarbone-grazing neckline in utmost elegance..

What’s even more interesting is that this neckline has been spotted on major runways in recent seasons, Prada, Dior and Ralph Lauren all featured the boatneck in their designs, even before the royal wedding, where Markle wore a custom Givenchy wedding gown by Clare Waight Keller featuring this type of neck. Moreover sales of this specific style have skyrocketed and Meghan’s fans have been shopping this silhouette like never before! According to Pinterest, saves for bateau necklines are on the rise on the platform, increasing by 104 percent since 2017. On eBay, sales for boatneck tops and dresses jumped 830 percent from November 2017 (when Marke and Prince Harry announced they were engaged) to June 2018.
