Meghan Markle Deletes Her Social Media Accounts!
It was a huge disappointment to find out that Meghan Markle has, sadly, closed all her social media accounts on January 9, as Kensington Palace confirmed. Of course, despite our disappointment, but this should come as no surprise given the change in Markle’s status come May 19th.
The Palace released a statement thanking Markle’s followers and claiming that the accounts were closed as she has not used them for some time. We hope, though, that it will be just a matter of time before Markle establishes new social media accounts after her wedding. However, these account if established, will be official and will surely be run by social media teams as in the case of other royal family members. One exception to this case is the Duke of York, who posts personal tweets every now and then signing them simply “AY”.
Markle’s Instagram account had an almost cult-like following with almost 1.9 million followers and it featured various photos of her dogs, her charity work, some recipes, as well as the occasional selfie.
She had more than 350,000 followers on Twitter and her Facebook page had 800,000 likes. She had already closed down her hugely popular lifestyle blog “The Tig” in April of last year seemingly after getting involved with Prince Harry.Look below for a few images she previously shared on her social media accounts…
