Packed to the brim with celebrities, Karl Lagerfeld once again wowed audiences with his Autumn/Winter 16 collection for Chanel held at the Grand Palais on Tuesday (08Mar16).

Unlike previous seasons when Lagerfeld chose to hold his catwalk show in a set styled to look like a supermarket or an airport waiting lounge, he instead chose to reference the past of the French high-fashion brand by making the set appear like a couture atelier.

Adding to the glamour were rows and rows of chic golden chairs, placed back to back, so as promised on the entry ticket, all viewers were perched on the front row.

The show opened with a hot pink dress made from Chanel's classic quilted fabric. Lagerfeld opted to give the look a harder edge by styling the outfit with oversized black leather gloves, knee-high boots and a matching shoulder bag.

The collection was littered with references to Coco Chanel's famous motifs, including sweet bows, camellia flowers on the top of coral coloured chiffon blouses, long layers of white pearls and retro skinny belts.
