Hussein Bazaza Fall ’16
Fashion Forward Season 7

His first collection since winning the Style.com/Arabic DDFC Fashion prize, Hussein Bazaza was on a mission to find immorality.
Ready for the journey of discovery, seat belts and all, Hussein Bazaza’s first few looks were a reflection of his love for experimentation, a medley of fabrics mismatched to perfection. Warm tones of plum, lilac and blue almost soldered together by some chemical reaction, the flowing skirts of metallic pleats appearing liquid-like in their beauty.
Over the loud speakers a scientist discusses his findings as the models strut down the runway. Fitted and structured at the bodice, like the rules and regulations of any science experiment. The results however as unpredictable and fluid as his skirts. The layers of scientific theory and observations creating delightful organic patchwork patterns across the collection.
Further along the findings are pieced together, the search for eternity almost complete. The final 10 dresses in the collection signaling a new day with heavenly detailing. Paintings of idyllic landscapes stretched over similar silhouettes, fitted tops and flowing skirts. Lace and tulle in sumptuous creamy shades giving us a sense of hope and optimism.
