Demi Lovato’s New Role Brings Her to Iraq And We Are Excited !

There are some stories that we write that give us the chills. If the name Demi Lovato still triggers mental health issues, you are right but not in the same way. The songstress who has openly battled body image issues in the past is now an advocate for the cause. Her InStyle award for Advocate of the year came closely after her appointment as the Mental Health Ambassador for Global Citizen. The social action platform, Global Citizen focuses on social media as a medium for change. With Demi’s 61.7M followers we expect real impact.

When discussing her new role with USA Today, the artist said, “We’re working to put together an art system so that it can help them heal and use music, or whatever art form they want. Art helps people, and we’re putting together an initiative to work together to help people be able to express their emotions through art.”

"What I don’t think people realize is that these people have gone through so much, and they're just like us," she adds. "I think it’s important to remember that they’re human, and no matter what their religion or skin color or what kind of person they are, they're human and it’s important that we do whatever we can to help them."

There is no surprise that some of the most needed healing is required in our part of the world, which means that her pilot project with Save The Children will bring her to Iraq, and we are thrilled !
