Colloidal Silver|| Healer or Hoax?
It’s interesting how we go back to go forward a lot of the times. There has been much talk about the ineffectiveness of some antibiotics and all the super-bugs that are antibiotic-resistant. With that some alternative medicine specialists are going back in time to materials that were used before the advent of antibiotics, specifically silver. Silver has always been touted as a bacteria inhibitor, and was used extensively to ward off inflammations and microbes. It is said that people ate from silver dishes and utensils to avoid getting sick. Colloidal silver is a silver liquid that many are using as a broad-spectrum anti-microbial. Considered an antibiotic supplement, colloidal silver is used to heal wounds, boost immunity and even spot-treat blemishes.
Gwyneth Paltrow has sung the praises of colloidal silver, packing it in her bag on long flights. The Oscar-winner is known to place a few drops on her tongue to protect from germs on stuff long-haul flights. She also sprays her seat with it, again to keep bacteria at bay.
Scientifically there is little evidence to either support or deny the claims.. Give it a try, silver is safe in the body. However if a few drops on your tongue are a stretch for you, perhaps just dab it on a zit and see what happens…
