Check Out These NYFW Changes That Have Us Dazed and Confused

New York Fashion Week is just around the corner and we really have no idea what to expect.. We can’t keep up with the changes to the fashion calendar with designers moving, changing and all together opting out of fashion week. These are the changes so far, but we’re pretty sure there will be more.

Last season saw a mass exodus of designers out of New York to greener pastures.Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Altuzarra and Thom Browne all moved to Paris for different reasons. Some preferring the couture calendar others wanting more international exposure.

This season American brand Tome will also be moving to Paris, clearly the city to be at if we’re to go by all these changes…

This season sees the departure of Spanish brand Delpozo, who will be showing in Paris instead of New York.A brand bucking the trend is Bottega Veneta, the Italian brand will be showing a one-off NYFW show in celebration of its Madison Avenue boutique opening.

Marchesa Fall 2017

Marchesa’s Valentine’s day show has been canceled as well. The brand will be opting for a more intimate set up.This hardly comes as a surprise with founder Georgina Chapman aka Mrs. Harvey Weinstein still reeling from all the accusations against her now estranged husband.

FentyxPuma and Calvin Klein have both decided to take a break from the runway for a season.Kanye West’s Yeezy show was debuted on Instagram and instead of the catwalk, a new and booming trend.

British Victoria Beckham who has made New York city her brand’s fashion show home will make a final appearance in NY before moving to London for her 10th anniversary commemorative show in September/October 2018.This season she will be opting for a series of mini shows instead of a traditional runway show.\

Victoria Beckham Spring 2017

As for Tommy Hilfiger his see-now buy now extravaganza will be show in Milan this season. The designer has made a habit of changing locations seasonally. As for Alexander Wang, he will be showing his very last NYFW show. The designer recently stated that he will be showing his collection off the fashion week calendar.Opting instead for a June/December schedule that fits his business model better.

That’s it for now folks…
