Another Lebanese Name Wows on the Red Carpet || Georges Hobeika
It has been a very busy season for Lebanese couturier Georges Hobeika. The red carpets have been a perfect backdrop to more dresses than usual by the Hobeika. The last red carpet, that of the Cannes Film Festival showcased a handful of dresses, more so that Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad actually who are more familiar to our ears.
Just a bit of a backstory…Georges Hobeika was thrown into the world of couture thanks to his mother’s successful dressmaking business. During the Lebanese Civil war Georges relocated to Paris, and interned at Chanel for a period of time. He then moved back to Lebanon and established his atelier in preparation for his first couture collection in 2001. Since then Georges work has grown from strength to strength. He new showcases a couture collection and three ready-to-wear collections, Georges Hobeika Bridal, Georges Hobeika Signature and GH by Georges Hobeika.
What’s next on the horizon for Georges, couture furniture of course.
