All You Need To Know About The Schiaparelli Couture Show
Schiaparelli presented a cutting edge and colorful couture collection in Paris on Monday morning (04Jul16).
The Italian fashion house, founded by late designer Elsa Schiaparelli, staged a bold presentation in the French capital full of glitter, vivid shades and structured shapes to a packed out audience.
Models strutted down the catwalk in head-turning pieces like a strapless dress with a red, pink, black and navy bodice, complete with a patch of rainbow-coloured tinsel to match the multi-coloured skirt. Another model rocked an equally enticing design; a glistening cream dress with black bird shapes, horses and a Ferris wheel printed on it, matching a statement shoulder piece on her right hand side which also went around her neck.
Creative director Bertrand Guyon was all about statement garments injected with a sense of fun, also sending a mini dress with a black bodice boasting the face of a woman on the front complete with a skirt metallic-pastel skirt and a fringed silver dress with a pink waistband and matching shoulder pads.
There were some more reserved numbers too, such as a black midi dress with a thigh-high slit worn over a black jacket with a gold face printed on the front. Equally as sophisticated was a pair of black, tailored flared trousers paired with a gold top and navy blazer with shoulder pads.
To give full attention to his creations, Guyon sent the ladies out with their hair scraped back and orange eyeshadow covering their lids, while the rest of their faces were left bare.
The whole range was perfect for extravagant parties and with such intricate designs, Guyon's pieces needn't be worn with accessories as the garments well and truly spoke for themselves.
