All You Need to Know About Gisele’s Book: Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life
Veteran runway model Gisele has a book to her name. launching on October 2nd, 2018 the book is neither a cookbook or of the lifestyle/exercise variety. Lessons: My Path to A Meaningful Life is what the mother-of-two calls a journal. With no specific start, middle or end, the book chronicles her struggles and the tools she developed over the years to deal with her issues.
The 38 year old Brazilian was one of the highest paid models in the industry for many years. That, in and of itself should give you some idea of the pressures Gisele faced. In addition to working what she calculates to be about 360 days a year, Gisele believes that her unhealthy eating habits didn’t help either.
Gisele has openly discussed her struggles with anxiety, panic attacks and even thoughts of suicide in her twenties, at the height of her modeling career. In the book these issues are mentioned, but more importantly how they are tackled is what the crux of the book is really about.
It is a response to the hardships she has faced, in the hope that they will help others ‘see the light at the end of the tunnel.’ Not only does Gisele exercise daily which I guess is expected, she also has dessert daily, not as expected. Her plant-based diet ensures however that her desserts include plenty of avocado, coconut and nuts. As for her anxiety, she speaks highly of meditation that she practices daily at approximately 5am.
Perhaps the most important thing Gisele brings to the table is our common humanity. She may seem to have been blessed with better genes, fortune and fame but at the end of the day she sounds a lot like us!
