6 Colorful Eye Makeup Trends To Experiment With NOW!
A short while back we explored the new makeup trends for summer 2018 and we got bombarded with requests to further investigate and explore. One of the major trends this summer and one that will definitely carry on till 2019 is the bright eyes trend or for better use of a word “the technicolor eyes”. The no makeup trend is sadly….or gladly… is not something we are interested in right now. We all want to step out wearing the colorful eyeshadows of the moment ….but how do we pull this off? Let’s find out below…
1 || One-Color Eyelid
Sweep an intense color across your eyelids from lashes to brow for a statement look. Experiment with the colors to find out your best match. Pair with minimal makeup and subtle strokes of mascara. You could match the eyeshadow with your lipstick à la J Lo. Note to self; yellow eye shadow is having a MAJOR moment.
2 || Two-Toned Eyes
You can take the one-color eyelid look up a notch by adding another color of the same family to the lower lash line. Colours of the same family work best but don’t limit yourself. If you feel like combining purple eye shadow with emerald liner then go ahead by all means. You can also combine your cat eye with a pop of color on the lower lash. To perfect the look make sure you line the lower lashes with the color you have chosen, next go over it with a similar color eyeshadow going back and forth using a small eyeshadow brush. Clean up the residue.
3 || Colorful Lashes
Remember when we used to cringe over blue mascara….or perhaps that was just me! Well now is the time to try out all the mascara colors you want to your heart’s content.
4 || Colorful Cat Eye
Another major color trend to adopt and one that would not take you that far out of your comfort zone is the colorful cat eye. Pair your standard back liner with another color of your choice on top of the black. Or you can even replace your standard back with any pop of color that takes your fancy.
5 || Graphic Color
Though this may not be your average run-of-the-mill look, but you can still test it out if you feel daring enough for your summer shenanigans.
6 || Hot Cheeks
Thanks to Rihanna and the creative people at Valentino, this trend - which is called ‘draping’ by the way - was the most unexpected trend to take off. Think dramatic blush that stretches up to your temples and merges with your eyeshadow. Replace your usual highlighters with cool or warm matte tones of red, orange, or fuchsia.
