4 Times Body Diversity Has Been Celebrated On The Runways

Last night’s ’19 Spring Brandon Maxwell show had a moment; Lily Aldridge strutted the runway showing off her 5-months pregnant belly in an incredibly gorgeous red fitted dress.. Confirming the body diversity trend we have been recently witnessing on runways, nothing but women empowerment is embodied in the most delightful of forms..

Which brings us flashback to other incidents that celebrated the fact that ‘women can do it!’..

During the Paraiso x SI Swimsuit runway on June ’18, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Mara Martin made eyes turn as she walked the show while breastfeeding her 5-month-old daughter.. Showing that ’women can do it’!

Cardi B kicked off the 2018 VMAs at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall holding a bundle of pink blankets in her arms. At first, it appeared that her 5-week old daughter Kulture Kiari was wrapped up inside, only moments later when she unwrapped the blanket, it turned out Cardi was only holding a shiny Moon Person trophy..

Body and image diversity on the runways is strongly succeeding at showing people that their differences don't define them. The best example is Winnie Harlow’s involvement in the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which will mark the first time that a model with Vitiligo has ever walked in the famous event.
