The Spring/Summer 2019 fashion cycle has begun in the city of Copenhagen. Under unprecedentedly high temperatures the fashion industry congregated to see what the Danes had in store, and they were not disappointed. You are probably already fans of Ganni and by Malene Birger, but there are plenty others to keep your eye on. Here are some of our favorites.
Baum und Pferdgarten was established in Copenhagen in 1999 by Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave. They created the brand name as an interplay between their surnames, and it perfectly reflects the dualistic playfulness that is echoed in their design. Ever since the beginning, the two Creative Directors have been constantly complementing and challenging each other to create collections filled with clashing contrasts, strong colors and memorable prints as the fundamental design DNA.
Blanche combines wear for the modern woman and the act of making the right choices. Blanche is for women, by women. Blanche is timeless with a contemporary outlook. Blanche is organic quality that uses surplus and recycled fabrics across its supply chain. Blanche is colorful, brave and forever, all at once. Cecilie Bahnsen is a luxury clothing label based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Drawing on a rich culture of design, our collections combine couture craftsmanship with sculptural silhouettes, reinterpreted for a contemporary audience. Each garment is handmade with traditional techniques, intricate detailing and uniquely designed fabrics to present a timeless expression of modern femininity.
Designers Remix was founded by creative director Charlotte Eskildsen and her husband and CEO, Niels Eskildsen. The brand started in 2002 remixing deadstock products following a sustainable philosophy.
Since then, they have successfully developed the company into an award winning global brand available in stores across Europe, the Middle East, Russia, USA, and Asia. Today Designers Remix has become a true favorite among several International influencers and celebrities.
Hofmann Copenhagen’s cool sophistication can be found in the brand’s attention to detail and high quality. The spirit is fresh and chic, while understanding the value of timeless style. The clothes provide an approachable, yet designer-level experience.
The collections consist of everyday classics enhanced by Hofmann’s unique aesthetic. She draws largely on art as her inspiration; this can be seen in everything from prints to color pairings to silhouettes. Most fabrics are developed in – house including all prints and embroideries.
Laerke Andersen is a Danish fashion brand seeking to erase the boundaries between feminine and masculine, function and luxury. LAERKE ANDERSEN encapsulates urban sophistication through unconventional fabric treatments, allowing the simplicity of classic shapes and uncompromising functionality to shine. The combination of classically inspired silhouettes and meetings with materials retrieved from workwear and sportswear, give the clothes a sense of unpretentious luxury.
In October 2017, Lærke Andersen was awarded this year’s winning talent, of Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize, the finest of its kind in Denmark. Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary handed Lærke Andersen the prize of DKK 500.000 including a fashion show during Copenhagen Fashion Week in February 2018.

Munthe owns three image stores in Denmark and Norway and employs 45 people. The company puts out 4 collections every year and has a fashion show twice a year.
The story of Mykke Hofmann is first of all the story of a long-lasting friendship between Sedina Halilovic and Jelena Hofmann. The two young mothers, along with their female team, try to make the world a bit better and more beautiful. Their designs celebrate femininity in its subtly striking way and are produced under fair and conscious conditions. They follow a slow-fashion approach and take their social and eco responsibility very serious.
After winning an investor, the young label has taken the bold step to open an own production site in Serbia, in October 2017. Thus the team has full control over the fabrication and can ensure fair working conditions. All suppliers are long-term partners and the raw materials are of certified European origin. Furthermore, the company implements a waste and energy minimizing delivery process.

Stine Goya is a Copenhagen-based designer brand known for its playful universe and colourful print picture. Collections consist of timeless and wearable pieces underpinned by feminine silhouettes, designed to empower women to celebrate and express individuality. The studio was formed in 2006 and recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. Since its inception the brand has been a bold and colourful injection to the Scandinavian fashion scene, a universe that continues to expand, as the brand gains international traction. Drawing on inspiration from the design and art world, the collections are built on lasting design, with the aim to make a small imprint on the ever-evolving cycle of fashion.
