Arab designers are taking over the world by storm, be they in art, fashion or design. We are witnessing an evolution whereby designers are relying heavily on art in their designs as well as using their designs as a platform to empower the underprivileged. The following are some of our favourite Arab handbag designers ….


Farah Al Asmar


Farah Al Asmar is a young and talented Jordanian handbag designer known for her structured bags that exude individuality and sophistication. The hugely popular handbags are made from different types of leather, exotic skins, and fabrics such as satin and lace.



Inaash Association


INAASH Association is a non-profit organisation supporting Palestinian refugees in Lebanon by empowering women and their families through the creation of beauitfully embroidered pieces that preserve the Palestinian culture and heritage.



Kanz Handbags


Kanz handbags are the fruit of a collaboration between TV presenter/magazine beauty editor Rabiaa Zayyat and her niece, Yara Ghossein, a graduate of the Instituto Marangoni Milano. They got together to create art through a modern and feminine handbag collection.



L’Afshar


Dubai based designer Lilian Afshar created her label to design sophisticated box clutches inspired by her experiences and travels and using unexpected materials such as white marble and coloured perspex.



LaLa Queen


Designer and creative director Sally Sarieddine launched her contemporary label LaLa Queen designing timeless handmade handbags in vegetable tanned leathers that are inspired by her multi-cultured background.

Lina Brax



French-Lebanese designer Lina Brax divides her time between Paris, Dubai, and Florence and her handbag collection seems to portray her love of art as well as her deep seated roots that are divided between East and West.

Madiso is a breathtaking handbag collection that incorporates exotic leathers with Swarovski crystals to create evening clutches with flair.



Marzook


Fahad and Shouq Al Marzook created their handbag collection inspired by their mutual love of art and design. Their collection evokes an East-meets-West theme and it boasts exquisite leathers, skins, precious metals and resins.

Having acquired great international fame, designer Nathalie Trad’s asymmetric designs transform classical shapes into beautiful pieces that defy aesthetic boundaries. Lebanese-born Dubai based designer Roula Ghalayini’s handbags infuse premium quality leathers with gold plated brass hardware, as well as wood to create enviable pieces coveted by royalty and celebrities worldwide.

Having trained over 200 underprivileged women in Lebanon since the year 2000, Sarah’s Bags have become a staple for fashion for a cause.
